Music preserves the memory of the times when jazz was the language of freedom, tango — the language of passion, and the saxophone knew how to tell more than words.
This is exactly what the last concert of the festival is like — a journey through music that has long become classic. The program will feature the brilliant pages of George Gershwin, the sophisticated world of Duke Ellington, the energy of Glenn Miller, the fiery mambo of Perez Prado, sensual Latin American rhythms and modern Ukrainian compositions.
All this will be performed by the Kyiv Saxophonist Quartet of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine — an ensemble that has been discovering new possibilities for the sound of the saxophone for many years.
